PURPOSE:

To award $1,000 scholarships (as funds allow in any given year and at the discretion of the Spartan Golf Boosters Board of Directors) to students who participate in the boys or girls golf program and are attending college the year following high school graduation.

ELIGIBILITY:

To be eligible for a scholarship a student must:

Have participated in the golf program for a minimum of three years and earned at least two varsity letters.

Completed at least 10 hours of community service.

Attend college the year following high school graduation.

Apply to the Spartan Golf Boosters between January and April of the student’s year of graduation.

At its discretion, the Board may consider special circumstances (such as an injury) and award a scholarship to a player who doesn’t meet all of the above eligibility criteria.

ADMINISTRATION:

Scholarship applications will be reviewed and recipients determined by the Spartan Golf Boosters Board of Directors.

A Spartan Golf Boosters Board member will award the scholarships in a ceremony.

PROMOTION OF THE SCHOLARSHIPS:

The scholarships will be promoted by the golf coaches, on the Spartan Golf Boosters website and possibly on various social media channels.
