How the Funds We Raise Are Spent
In the 2023-2024 school year, we had 21 boys and 19 girls participating in the Berthoud High School golf program. The incredible growth that has taken place since Coaches Hunn and Perry came to BHS in the spring of 2019 (when there were a total of 8 players for both teams) has made fundraising a priority in order to run a quality program.
We want our player’s parents as well as all Spartan Golf Classic sponsors and participants to know how we are spending the funds raised by the golf tournament and the other fundraising we ask the players to perform during the year.
Expenses Shared by Both Boys and Girls programs: Approx. $7,000/yr
- Golf Balls, Push Carts, Golf Bags, Towels and Umbrellas
- Miscellaneous equipment and training aids (rangefinders, ball repair tools, alignment sticks, tees, training aids for both putting and full swings)
Boys Team Expenses: Approx. $6,000/yr
- Caps, polos, shorts, belts, golf gloves, on-course nutrition and hydration
- Gift cards for unpaid assistant coaches
- Team banquet expenses
Girls Team Expenses: Approx. $5,500/yr
- Knit beanies, caps, polos, skorts/pants, baselayers, handwarmers, mittens, gear bags, golf gloves, on-course nutrition and hydration
- Birdieball putting mats for indoor practice on bad weather days (assume 5 year replacement cycle)
- Hitting mats and nets for indoor practice on bad weather days
- Gift cards for unpaid assistant coaches
- Team banquet expenses
College Scholarships for Graduating Seniors: $4,000 (estimated per year)
- Candidate must have played on the BHS team for a minimum of three years and earned at least two varsity letters
- Candidate must have at least 10 hours of community service
- Candidate must submit an application to the Spartan Golf Boosters Board of Directors between November and April of their year of graduation

Annual Website and State Registration Expenses: $350
- Web hosting cost, site creation software fees, State of Colorado fees
